I had the pleasure of joining a virtual figure drawing class last night, hosted by the Brooks Museum of Art. Overall, it was an interesting experience and immediately reminded me of being back in college, all those many years ago. To begin, we started off with quick drawings — one minute, then five minutes — and gradually worked our way up to ten and fifteen minutes. I am looking forward to joining another virtual art class soon.
One detail that stood out was how all the models wore masks, something that will no doubt date this class in history. Years from now, these sketches will serve as a reminder of this particular moment — a subtle record of how even our creative practices adapted: Art During Covid.
